BIO:
Arthur Webster's Timeline: 1959- First performance onstage at teen record hop in his hometown of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, playing Eddy Cochran rock n' roll songs on banjo. 1962+'63- Forms Beatle copy group "THE BEETLES" and performs several times at local high school. 1964-'68- U. of Maine, joins campus rock n' roll band "THE CUMBERLANDS" (who are mentioned in Stephen King's book HEARTS IN ATLANTIS, page 300). 1968-'70- Helps form and plays bass with original rock band "FATE" (w/Jay Snyder from "Euphoria's Id" and w/Steve Dore and Skip Smith, who later formed "The Blend"), records in NYC's Studio 3 (alongside "The Hassles" w/Billy Joel) and appears on Cleveland's rock n' roll TV show "Upbeat". 1972-'74- Helps form and plays bass in "THE TERRIBLE WEEMAN BROTHERS" (w/ Jeff Joseph, Steve Dore + Skip Smith), northern New England's greatest rock n' roll super group of the time. 1975- Arthur starts playing solo acoustic guitar gigs, featuring his own material, and continues to the present. 1975-'77- Joins and plays fretless bass with "DEVONSQUARE" during their 6-piece rock n' roll years. 1977-'80- Forms "THE PUMPS" with Michael Atherton (ex-DEVONSQUARE) and records "THE PUMPS- Looking For The Handle", soon to be re-released on CD. 1980-'84- Forms performing duo "DANIEL N' WEBSTER" with folk-great Danny McCarthy. 1985-'95- Helps form and performs with Boothbay's premier rock n' roll band of the time, "THE SHAGS" (w/"Bobby Comstock and the Counts" alumnus Paul Johnson). Also re-ups with, jams + records with old friend Peter Giftos (of "Mighty Sam MacClaine" + "The Blues Party" fame). 1996-'01- Joins Boothbay's popular rock band "PRIZM" and plays on, writes for and co-produces their 1999 CD release "First Time". 2001- Releases solo CD "JERICHO ROAD" on his WEBTONE RECORDS label. 2001-Present- Joins local eclectic acoustic band extrodinaire, "THE HOLY MACKERELS", playing stand-up bass.
